Together We Can
I suspect like a number of people traversing through these strange times of living in a pandemic, which surprisingly is so close to the script of “contagion” that has had an impact on my sleep pattern and sleep and I are no longer as close friends that we once were.
The one positive that has come from this has been my discovery of the BBC World service which conveniently tends to be in 30 minute programs and can be set to automatically switch off. These are not climate change focused programs, just but across an array of programs mainly newsroom. (An addiction to understanding what is happening in our world I will admit to).
So what has this to do with Urthee, “BBC world service” as its says in its name, it’s a world service covers and covers global news, innovation and actions. I have learnt about ingenious innovation in Kenya that use food waste when processed can be used to be a filter to provide clean water, to people in Asia eating
different grains to substitute the rice they normally eat as rice takes so much water to grow.
Sharing services and articles which helps reduce production of not just clothing which has a lot of deserved focus (Fashion being the third largest contributor to climate change). This was being done at community level in Africa.
So if we can, through our small changes, grow this community approach globally what an impact we could have!
